A note...

Well I must say on one hand I am missing painting everyday & sharing with everyone! However, feeling overwhelmed with lots of stuff happening (classes, commissions, festivals, fairs & to add on top of that a full time job, family, friends.... There is no time left it seems. I know my goal currently is to make my passion for art my full time fun job & I WILL! I am enjoying seeing all the posts of those who are participating in the 30 Day Challenge! Cheers friends & fellow artiststs...happy painting & creating!

West Quoddy Head Light, Oil on Canvas

One of my most favorite vacations was in Downeast Maine. We stayed in Machiasport at a little cottage on the coast. It was perfect! We would take day trips from our cottage and visit Eastport, Campobello Island and Lubec. I finally got to paint a painting of the red and white West Quoddy Head Light. This is a 18" x 18" oil on deep stretched canvas. I am gearing up for the Freeport Fall Festival in Freeport, ME. on October 4th & 5th.
Thank you for your continued support! Make it a great day! Visit my ETSY store for some great art! ETSY - AricasArt

"Michelle" 18" x 24" commissioned Watercolor

I was commissioned to paint pink roses. I was sent a photo but the reference photo  only included a few pink roses & mostly greenery. Upon visiting the customers space & gathering information about personal feelings & style this is what I came up with for a watercolor for Michelle's office space. I am honored to have been able to be free to create an original to fit a space & personality  as well as interpret what she wanted. I love how this turned out! It makes me happy to know I have a happy customer! Thank you Michelle!

Having a beautiful summer here in Maine. Spent a day driving the coast & managed to get a few photos to use as reference to paint! This is an oil on 12" x 16" canvas.

Arica's Art Adventure - Day 30 of 30

My final painting for this 30 Day Challenge is the painting I had the pleasure of teaching to a group of 10 ladies! I took them on Arica's Art  Adventure ~ A Colorful Journey! It's a NO EXPERIENCE required class of painting, eating & sipping on a favorite beverage! The rule is you must be positive & just go with it! I love having those that have never painted before create a masterpiece! It makes my heart smile to see the smiles at the end of the lesson because they are super proud of themselves! Here are a few photos from last night! We use acrylic paint for purposes of drying and ease of beginners covering up something if they don't like it.

This was the sample I used to teach.

This was in progress showing them how to paint the flowers - Loosely!

A few pictures of students & their work in progress & their drinks :)

And voila....after a couple of hours we have masterpieces!!!

THANK YOU ladies for joining me! I love being your teacher! Cheers until the next class!!

I also offer in home paint parties! Lots of fun! Message me at aricasart@yahoo.com for more information or through my Facebook page: Arica's Art
